Gabriel Moore-Topazio is an independent writer and artist who self-publishes as Wrought Comics. Moore-Topazio is a self-taught artist who studied History of Art and Visual Culture and Literature at UC Santa Cruz. Wrought Comics' flagship title "Asylum" was launched in October 2013 and features cover art by Santa Cruz artist, Lauren Day Benson. Set in a fictional mental institution named Glass Asylum, as well as an alternate dimension called The Ring, "Asylum" is an ongoing series that explores themes of identity, psychosis and social power through the lens of fantasy. "Asylum" has released six issues, with "Asylum Volume 1: New Born" collecting issues 1-4 in a trade paperback.


"Asylum" is available for print or digital download at It is also available at Mission Comics in San Francisco, Atlantis Fantasyworld in Santa Cruz, Meltdown Comics in Los Angeles, and soon to be available in select bay area comic book stores, including the Cartoon Art Museum Bookstore.
